When you’re one of the best athletes ever to have played tennis, you’re bound to inspire a lot of fans. A new Barbie doll honors Serena Williams’ contributions to the court and encourages young people to dream big.
Mattel, the company that makes Barbies, released the Serena doll in time for October 11, which is the International Day of the Girl. It’s a day to support the rights of girls around the world and to celebrate their potential. Mattel released another Serena Williams doll in March 2026 in honor of International Women’s Day. The first doll celebrated Willams’ accomplishments in the business world. This new one is all about her tennis career.

Serena Williams holds a March 2026 Business Barbie version of her. The doll celebrates Williams’ involvement in the business world.
The new Barbie doll wears a green and white outfit modeled after the outfit Williams was wearing when she won her seventh Grand Slam singles title at the 2005 Australian Open. The term Grand Slam is used when a tennis player wins all four of the sport’s major competitions that season.
Williams and her new doll are part of Team Barbie, a group of Barbie dolls that represent female athletes. The dolls are designed to support confidence in young girls. Williams hopes she and the doll will inspire young people.
“Growing up, I didn’t see many girls who looked like me being told there was no limit to who they could become,” Williams said in a statement. “I want every girl who plays with this doll to see possibility—not just in me, but in herself. She can dream big, work hard, change direction, break barriers, and become anything she chooses. That’s what makes having my own Barbie so meaningful to me.”
